How to transfer workspace ownership in Leewou
Step-by-step guide to transferring Leewou workspace ownership to another team member, what changes after the transfer, and what to do before you leave.
Each Leewou workspace has exactly one owner - the person who controls billing, team settings, and plan changes. If you're leaving the company, handing off the account to a client, or just restructuring who manages the platform, you can transfer ownership directly from Settings without any help from support.
Before you transfer
The person you're transferring to must already be a member of your workspace. You can't transfer to someone who hasn't accepted an invite. If they're not in the team yet, add them first.
- Go to Settings → Team and confirm the new owner is listed as an active member.
- If they're not there yet, send them an invite and wait for them to accept before proceeding.
- Make sure the new owner has the credentials they'll need to manage billing - they'll get full access to Billing details and the Upgrade plan tab immediately after the transfer.
Once you transfer ownership, you become a regular member. You'll lose access to Billing details, plan changes, and team management unless the new owner removes you and you set up a fresh workspace.
How to transfer ownership
The transfer happens in Settings → Team. Only the current owner can initiate it.
- Go to Settings → Team in the left sidebar.
- Find the member you want to transfer ownership to in the Members list.
- Click the actions menu next to their name.
- Select Transfer Ownership.
- A confirmation dialog appears - review the name and confirm.
- The transfer is immediate. Your role changes to Member and theirs changes to Owner.
What changes after the transfer
The role change is immediate and affects what each person can see and do:
- The new owner gets full access - billing, plan settings, team management, and all product features.
- You become a regular member - full access to discovery, lists, and campaigns, but no billing or team management.
- Nothing in the workspace changes - all lists, creator data, campaigns, and saved work stays exactly as it was.
- The billing contact and payment method don't change automatically. The new owner should update billing details if needed.
Pro tip: After the transfer, ask the new owner to update the billing contact email in Plan & billing → Billing details. Invoices and renewal reminders will still go to the old email address until that's changed.
Leaving the workspace after transferring
If you're fully stepping away from the workspace after transferring - not just changing roles but actually leaving - you can remove yourself once the transfer is complete. The new owner can remove you from the Members list, or you can leave from Settings → Team using the Leave Team option.
